St Ives Lifeboat Day Thursday 16 August 2007
Make a date in your diary for this year's Lifeboat Day in St Ives, to be held on Thursday 16 th August 2007.
The day will start early in the morning with stalls in the boathouse and on the quay, with the All Weather Lifeboat the Princess Royal and the Inshore Lifeboat Colin Bramley Parker both out on display.
Later in the day there will be an RNLI barbeque running opposite the Sloop Inn from approximately 11.30am. The Lifeboats will be launched early afternoon to rendezvous with a Search & Rescue Helicopter from RNAS Culdrose for a joint exercise in St Ives Bay between 2:00 & 3:00 in the afternoon (subject to operational constraints on the helicopter & lifeboats).
The day will be rounded off with bands outside the Sloop Inn (subject to confirmation).
Throughout the day and evening collections will be made for St Ives RNLI by St Ives Lifeboat crewmen & helpers, and by ladies of the St Ives Lifeboat Guild who are also the event organisers.
